Marlene Oddie and Nancy Goddard, of Grand Coulee, are semifinalists for the 2017 AQS QuiltWeek event in Des Moines, Iowa, Oct. 4-7.

Quilts were entered in this international contest from 42 U.S. states and 13 other countries.

Oddie has been chosen to display the quilt "RONDURE - SEAGLASS." Goddard, in collaboration with Oddie, has been chosen to display the quilt, "JEWELS," along with 214 other entries in the contest.

As semifinalists, their quilts will be displayed in the show, which is expected to draw more than 15,000 people and award more than $50,000 in prizes.
