Cary Rosenbaum II was among the “40 under 40” award winners honored during the 40th Annual Indian Progress in Business Awards (INPRO) Gala at the Buffalo Thunder Resort and Casino in Santa Fe, New Mexico Nov. 16. The awards are part of the Reservation Economic Summit New Mexico (RES New Mexico), a regional event for the premier economic development gathering in Indian Country.

The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED) announced its 2016 class of “Native American 40 Under 40” award recipients. The award from the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development is awarded to individuals under the age of 40, nominated by members of their communities, who have demonstrated leadership, initiative, and dedication and made significant contributions in business and their community.

Rosenbaum, a resident of Grand Coulee and a member of the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation is the editor of the Tribal Tribune. He also freelances for Indian Country Today, where he writes the publication’s only sports column “The Native Sports Columnist.” He has held other positions at tribal and non-tribal publications, and was associate editor for The Easterner, the college newspaper at Eastern Washington University, where he earned a bachelor of arts in editorial journalism.
