City supports health district

Electric City Council voted $2,000 last week, to renew its relationship with the Grant County Health District. The health district asks $2 for each resident, and makes a number of special services available to cities and towns. The agreement is for 2017.

Free movie night

The Grand Coulee Dam PTA will offer a free movie, “Annie,” at the Lake Roosevelt Elementary School cafeteria on Friday evening, Oct. 21. The doors will be open for the movie at 5:15. Those coming are asked to bring a pillow or blanket to lie on, or lawn chairs. Concessions will be for sale.

PTA plans festival

The PTA is scheduling its Fall Festival for Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the elementary school cafeteria. There will be carnival games, face painting and a costume contest. Food will be available. Tickets are 50 cents.

road delays

Work on SR-155 to Coulee City will continue weekdays from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and drivers should expect up to 20-minute delays, the state Department of Transportation says.

Central Washington Asphalt is putting “rumble strips” down the center line in an $848,000 project that started Sept. 19 and should be completed this month.
