Olson awarded scholarship

The P.E.O. awarded a $2,500 STAR Scholarship for the 2016-2017 academic year to Andrea Olson, a senior at Almira/Coulee- Hartline High School.

The STAR Scholarship was awarded to 400 high school seniors from a pool of 1,933 applicants nationwide.

Olson is the daughter of Robert and Amber Olson and was recommended for the scholarship by Chapter DG of Coulee Dam.

Olson has been accepted and will attend Central Washington State University, where she plans to study early childhood education, with an emphasis on autism.

The Philanthropic Educational Organization scholarship is based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success.

The P.E.O. Sisterhood is an international philanthropic and educational organization which promotes increased educational opportunities for women.
