Grand Coulee

5/14 - A man reported to police that a power line near Batchelor’s Square was down. Police directed traffic until Grant County PUD arrived.

5/15 - A Nespelem man was cited for not having any required documents the officer asked for after being stopped for a faulty headlamp. A licensed driver arrived and took control of the vehicle.

- An Electric City woman told police that a woman keeps harassing her. The officer suggested that she get a no-contact order through the courts and she said she would do so.

- A man from Trout Lake was processed for driving while under the influence after he hit the guardrail near the entrance to Northrup Canyon. He was held until the Washington State Patrol arrived since the incident was outside the city limits.

5/16 - A man on Coulee Boulevard East in Electric City said a firearm of his was missing. The last time he saw it was last summer after returning from the gun range. The firearm has been listed as stolen.

- A Coulee City man was cited for malicious mischief after throwing a phone during a domestic argument in Electric City.

Coulee Dam

5/5 - Two drivers were given warnings for speeding, one for going 30 mph in a school zone and the other for going 49 mph on the Coulee Dam hill, where the limit is 30 mph.

5/8 - A man known to police to have previous registration problems was stopped and the officer learned that the man’s license was suspended. He was arrested on a warrant and a charge of driving with a suspended license was added to his woes. He was taken to Okanogan County Jail.

5/9 - The father of a child who attends Lake Roosevelt Elementary School was arrested for harassment and taken to Okanogan County Jail. The child and her mother had stated that they were afraid of him. A restraining order was placed on the man.

- Employees of the Coulee Dam Casino told police that a child of about 4 or 5 was being neglected and was seen unattended, playing out on Sixth Street. The casino employees stated that they took food and water to the boy. Since the property is tribal property and the child is a tribal member, the matter was turned over to tribal officers, and the two departments worked together in the investigation. Contact was made with the mother of the child and it was explained to her that the report was going to Child Protective Services.

5/10 - A man on Walnut Street reported to police that his vehicle had been stolen from in front of his house. He stated that he fell asleep while watching a movie and when he work up the vehicle was gone. He suggested to police that his girlfriend might have a key to the vehicle and might have taken it.
