Raider track showed improvement at the annual Ray Cross Invitational in Ephrata Saturday.

As a team, they did not record a team point, but individuals did show improvement over last week in Oroville.

“It was a long day and thankfully the weather cooperated,” Head Coach Lori Adkins said. “The team as a whole showed excellent teammate support, effort in their events, and maintained great attitudes throughout the day.”

Nathaniel Hall improved both his 100-meter and 200-meter dash times over his Oroville times. Nathan Morrell improved his throws in all three throwing events. And Jonell Denschel set personal record in both the shot put and discus events, with throws of 25 feet, 8.75 inches and 67-07 respectively.

Robert George improved his 110 high hurdles time by a half second (19.75 seconds) and his 300 intermediate hurdles time by almost two seconds (48.38 seconds).

Many others posted better marks in one of their events.

Coach Adkins was pleased by the improvement that the Raiders showed in their events.

“Many athletes performed at near PR levels, which is awesome to see this early in the season,” she said.

Raider track will travel to Chelan March 31 for an open meet starting at 3:30 p.m. Teams in attendance will be Caribou Trail League members Chelan, Cascade, and Omak, and Central Washington 1B Entiat. The small meet will give the Raiders a chance to continue improvement in all events while also facing challenging opponents.
