Police say a local man has been identified with a security camera as the person breaking into a residence on Miller Avenue in Electric City.

Michael Snyder II, 26, was identified as the person breaking into the home of his grandfather, Milton A. Snyder. It was the second time in a month that the grandson had allegedly entered his grandfather’s house.

His father, Michael S. Snyder, gave the security camera pictures to the police and identified the thief as his son.

Police said entry was gained through a metal door in the laundry room and the exit was through a sliding glass door.

The main items taken were a beaded dress and moccasins. The owner of the items said they were priceless and belonged in a museum.

The Grand Coulee Police report was sent to the Grant County Prosecutor’s Office for review, with possible charges of residential burglary, theft in the first degree and malicious mischief. The young Snyder was still at large Tuesday.

A review of the property showed that many items had been moved, but it wasn’t clear if any other items were missing.

Police took a pry bar and other items as evidence.

The suspect had been arrested earlier this month for breaking into the house. Police found him at the Coulee Dam Casino where he was taken into custody, and he was taken to Grant County Jail.

Earlier this year, he was arrested in connection with two break-ins at Riverview Lanes bowling alley in Coulee Dam. On that occasion he was taken to Okanogan County Jail.
