The Lake Roosevelt fourth grade girls' basketball team began their season with practices starting in September, then began play in the Moses Lake AAU fourth grade girls' league in late October. After complaints from teams who refused to play them, they were forced to move up to fifth grade after their first game.

Despite playing against fifth graders and starting a second grader, they won nine games and only lost once in league play. They faced their challenges with determination, practiced hard, listened to their coaches and persevered.

After their AAU season ended, they played in a number of tournaments. In December they won the fourth grade division in the Santa Hoops tournament in Ellensburg. They played in the Spokane Santa Slammer in December and placed second.

New Year's weekend they went to Moses Lake again and won the fourth grade division in that tournament. They recently capped off their long season by winning the Davenport tournament, which included a number of teams from our region.

The parents would like to thank the coaches, Justin Neddo and Mike Steffens, for their leadership and time commitment and the girls for playing hard and with good sportsmanship. It was another fun and successful season.
