Raiders finish eighth at league championship

Raider Cross Country traveled to Liberty Bell Saturday for the Central Washington B North Cross Country Championship in preparation for this week's District 5-6 race at Wenatchee.

Liberty Bell won both the boys' and girls' league championships.

Lake Roosevelt's head coach, Gary Darnold, noted two of his runners hit career personal records while others had season PRs at the meet.

"We had a strong effort with half our team PR'ing," Darnold said. "Many of our runners fought through previous injuries to perform well."

Loryn Moore, the only girl running for the Raiders, came in sixth at the meet with the time of 22 minutes, 17 seconds.

Robert George led the Raider boys, coming in 18th at 19:49.

Jerry Palmer crossed the finish line at 20:34 for 33rd. Cameron Tillman finished at 20:46 for 36th. Cole Trotter took 50th with a time of 21:12. Bradley Wilder ran a PR, coming in 53rd at 21:22. Corban Wilder also ran a PR with the time of 21:29 for 59th. Will Friedlander finished 67th at 22:52. Kaden Trotter completed the race at 22:56 for 68th place.


On Saturday, the Raiders will travel to Walla Walla Point Park in Wenatchee for the District 5-6 Championship. The top seven girls and top 21 boys move on to the state championships in Pasco Nov. 7 at Sun Willows Golf Course. Races in Wenatchee will begin at noon with the girls' varsity followed by the boys'.
