A bit of history - Among the treaures in the basement at Coulee Dam Town Hall, Gayle Swaggerty and Glo Carroll found this recently. Anybody know who wore number 9 for the Mason City High School football team in 1942?

Officials from the US Dept. of Ecology presented Grand Coulee Mayor, Tammara Byers with a check for $3.1 million in a ceremony at North Dam Park. The money is to be used to help connect Grand Coulee's water lines to Electric City's.

Nespelem School District announced this week that more budget and personnel cuts a probable for next year. Declining enrollment and overstaffing is said to be the reasoning.

A former Ketch Pen bartender, accused of four counts of over serving, has reached an agreement with prosecutors. The accused bartender plead guilty to one count, receiving a 60 days jail sentence, $500.00 fine and one year probation.

Raider Senior first baseman Kevin Portch, had a busy day for the Raider Baseball team Saturday. Raiders defeated Cashmere 7-2 making Cashmere the third State ranked team to fall at Green Field this year. Portch got a bases loading walk in the 6th inning, then Curtis Brashears was hit by a pitch, followed by a single by Chris Johnson, Portch then stole home on a wild pitch, Justin Neddo then hit a double clearing the bases and securing the victory of the third ranked bulldogs.

The Kingdom of Zob will be performed by LRHS Drama Club this weekend. Michael Sheridan will play the hero, Debbie Louie will play the princess. Also starring in the play is: Steve Harrington, LeaAnn Snyder, Sharon Covington, Donna Wagner, Maryle Cobb, Teresa Meyer, Kelly Curtis, Lenore Armstrong, Susie Palmer, Ginny Rooney and Spencer Morley.

Center School hosted the Science Fair last week. 1st place winners are: 6th Grade Jeff Patrick, 5th Grade Tim Hare and 4th Grade Andy Dewey.

Crow Rock Products Inc. was appparent low bidder of $36,309.35 for work under Bureau of Reclamation Specifications for the relocation of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Memorial Bust. The memorial was originally located at the east end of Grand Coulee Dam. It will be re-establisehd at a location upstream and adjacent to the pump-generating plant on the west end of the dam.

The retirement of two top ranking projet heads at the Bureau of Reclamation at Grand Coulee Dam hae been announced. Raymond K. Seely, Operations Manager and Howard L. Fink, Third Powerplan Construction Engineer will both end their long and distinguished careers at the end of April.
