The Raider golf match at home on Thursday was cut short because of the wet weather.

There were no official scores and there are no plans to reschedule — now that district play starts Monday in Chelan starting at 10 a.m.

Before then, the Raider golf team travelled to Oroville yesterday to take on Waterville and Oroville in a final tune-up match.

As districts approach, Head Coach Steve Files recognized the effort put out by a particular player.

“Our senior leader, Drew Desautel has been consistently strong all season,” Files said. “Week in and week out he has faced the top golfers in the area head to head and acquitted himself very well. Drew has a good all-around game and possesses all the shots and mental toughness required to make a serious challenge at districts. I am always pleased with the way Drew competes. He is not intimidated by anyone.”

Desautel and others will have their work cut out for them at Districts. Out of districts, the top 11 boys and top 7 girls will qualify for state, held at Lakewood Golf Course in Tacoma.
