    A young Electric City man was killed and another man injured last week in a one-car rollover about a mile south of Electric City. Brandon Buche, 23, had recently finished a tour with the U.S. Navy, where he served as an electrician’s mate. He was employed at Safeway in Grand Coulee while working to pursue a career with electricity. Around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning, Buche was driving a 2006 Jeep Wrangler on Bay Area Drive near Coulee View Road when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office reported. It was decided that the niece and uncle would leave the house for the night. - A woman told police that she received a counterfeit $20 bill when getting change from Safeway. Police took the fake bill as evidence. 3/13 - Dispatch advised police that someone had been seen dropping off a bag in a field near East Grand Avenue in Electric City.     After racking up multi-million dollar losses in four of the past five years, Coulee Medical Center will put in place a turn-around plan to “stop the bleeding,” CEO Jonathan Owens said, “sooner, rather than later,” and that will include some strategic job cuts. Owens said CMC will be operating in the black within eight months, predicting the restructuring plan will produce a nearly $6.6 million turnaround in 2017 and $3.6 million per year thereafter. (15MAR2017) - A 23-year-old Electric City man was killed and another man injured as the result of a one vehicle rollover about one mile south of Electric City early Wednesday morning. Brandon Buche was driving a 2006 Jeep Wrangler on Bay Area Drive near Coulee View Road around 2:00 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road.     Inland Northwest Blood Center along with the Grand Coulee community blood drive volunteers, are planning a blood drive for Monday, March 20. Donation hours will be from 11:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the community room in Coulee Medical Center.     Grand Coulee Police 3/6 - Vandals did about $125 damage at Young’s Welding. Boys with long skateboards were thought to be responsible. The suspects tipped a display over and broke a rock, the police report stated. 3/7 - USBR Plant Protection was notified by a citizen of two small juveniles on the Coulee Dam bridge who appeared to be distraught. Police encountered a woman who refused to stop and went around the corner of the apartment complex, where she fell, breaking her ankle. She had complained that a man had hit her. A woman who said he had not was found to be wanted on a warrant, arrested and taken to Grant County jail.     Dangerous crosswalk discussed Cheryl Hoffman, president of the local senior center, asked Grand Coulee City Council to do something about the dangers of the crosswalk on Federal Way.     A telephone service outage for CenturyLink customers in the Grand Coulee Dam area lasted for several days following a power outage centered in in Ephrata. A spokesperson for CenturyLink said that there had been several phone outages in eastern Washington following an electrical transformer fire in Ephrata Wednesday night.     The Nespelem All-Indian Basketball Tournament was held this past weekend, bringing people together to bond over basketball and bringing people to the area during the tourists' off-season.     Grand Coulee Police 2/10 - Dispatch reported to police that there was an intoxicated man passed out with a bottle of Fireball on the steps of a residence on Van Tyne Avenue.
