An Electric City man, who had been cited earlier, was cited again Sunday — for having too many dogs.

Police wrote Frank Brown, who resides at 18-B West Grand Avenue, citations for his dogs barking and and for having eight dogs on the premises.

The officer’s report stated that Brown had been cited earlier for barking dogs and for having more dogs than the city ordinance allows. Electric City allows only two dogs per residence.

Police were following up on a complaint of barking dogs. When the officer arrived, he looked over the fence and could count eight dogs.

The officer couldn’t tell if there were dogs inside the residence.

Brown told officers that he’d had 12 dogs, but the number now was down to eight and that he was trying to get rid of the dogs.

The citation was for repeat offenses on dogs barking and for having too many dogs.

The officer explained that every day he kept the dogs he could be charged with another offense and each penalty was for more money.

Brown was advised that the city could take additional action against him. He said he understood.
