After a big win preceded by two losses last week, the Lady Raiders are tied for league standing with Liberty Bell.

Lake Roosevelt lost on the road to Liberty Bell, lost a non-league home game against Okanogan, and won by a landslide against Manson.

In Liberty Bell on Jan. 16, the Lady Raiders lost 58-46 against the Mountain Lions.

"You can't win when the other team shoots 42 free throws," Head Coach Wallace Pleasants said. "We never had our starting lineup on the floor except maybe two possessions because of the fouls."

At home on Jan. 19 against the Okanogan Bulldogs, the Lady Raiders fell 59-36 in the non-league game.

"Okanogan always brings a physical presence," Pleasants said. "I hope we took something from that and move forward with it. We got all the looks we wanted on offense. It's been our constant struggle all season, getting 60 shots each game but shooting 22 percent; that's not a winning combination. We have to get the shot thing down."

Despite the loss, Pleasants was still happy with his team's performance.

"I told the girls we did a lot of things right. We played through the physical game, we played aggressive as the game went on. We didn't quit."

In Manson the next day, the Lady Raiders showed no mercy to the Lady Trojans, winning by a 29-point margin, 48-19.

"Manson has two nice-sized post players," Pleasants noted. "We held them to single digits in points. It allowed us to control the boards, get out and run the floor a little bit. Ellie Hansen did an outstanding job on their big number 40, Olivia Ludwig; she did a nice job on number 40, and Kelsie Olbricht took care of number 10.

The Lady Raiders' 7-4 league record ties them with Liberty Bell for fourth place, behind Brewster (11-1), Tonasket (10-2), and Waterville (8-4), and ahead of Soap Lake (3-7), Manson (3-9), Bridgeport (2-10), and Oroville (2-11).

The Lady Raiders played the Tonasket Lady Tigers last night at home, which will be reported on next week. The girls travel to Omak for a non-league match on Thursday, before going to Bridgeport on Saturday.

The Lady Raiders will host the Brewster Lady Bears on Monday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m.
