Charmayne Yvonne "Cherie" Williams Dazell was born in Astoria, Oregon, on August 14, 1953, to Lee and Phyllis Williams, and left this earth on Friday, November 3, 2017, in Grand Coulee, Washington. Shortly after she was born, they moved to Guam, where Lee was stationed in the Navy. After Lee's discharge, the family settled in Nespelem, Washington, where Cherie was raised with her siblings, Barry and Roxanne.

Cherie attended Nespelem grade school and Coulee Dam High school where she graduated in 1971. She was proud to be one of the "Last Beavers" to grace the stage. In 1971, she married Ron Kiser and from this union two amazing sons were born: Chad in 1972 and Jason in 1975.

Cherie made a career of being in the grocery industry as a checker, where she took great pride in her work and won several competitions. She retired from Safeway in 2008. On December 19, 1991, she married John Dazell and became blessed with his children, Curt and Merilee.

She enjoyed spending time with grandkids and enjoyed watching them play in their sports. Tanner happened to be the lucky one being the "home boy." He got her and her good friend Penny at almost every game. She also enjoyed traveling around the U.S. to see the other grandkids running track and playing softball, baseball and lacrosse.

She loved spending time with friends and taking drives to the ranch to visit Colleen and the kids. Cherie liked to do crafts and was an avid reader. She made beautiful ornaments, and recently spent hours on adult coloring books.

She especially enjoyed traveling south with John in the winter and visiting with friends in Yuma, Arizona.

Cherie leaves behind her loving husband, John; children: Chad (Kaci), Jason (Janet), Curt (Heather) and Merilee (Jeff); brother, Barry (Julie); sister, Roxanne (Mike); grandchildren; Kaitlyn, Colby, Tanner, Nick, Emma, Amanda, Samantha and Carson; nieces and nephews: Amanda, Dalton, Garrett, Jennifer, Lee, Kodi Jo, Bronson, Jade, Tyrell, Diana, Todd and Zane; along with many dear friends who loved her very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Phyllis Williams; in-laws, Art and Grayce Dazell; her special Grandma Ingrid and her second mom Faye Kiser.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2017, at St. Henry's Catholic Church in Grand Coulee.

Strate Funeral Home of Grand Coulee is honored to be serving Cherie's family.
