Grand Coulee Police

9/23 - An officer returning from taking a prisoner to jail came upon a two-vehicle accident near Coulee City. The officer took information, cleared the intersection and advised the county sheriff’s office and Washington State Patrol.

9/25 - A man on a motorcycle known to have a warrant for his arrest was detained and, after the warrant was confirmed, taken to Grant County jail.

- Coulee Dam asked for assistance after one of their officers stopped a vehicle, had one person detained, and two others fled in the vehicle. The vehicle fled toward Elmer City.

- A woman was captured on a security camera taking a box from a car on Main Street. Police are trying to identify her.

9/26 - A reporting party told police that they heard screaming coming from the Boulder Avenue NE area. Police checked the area but couldn’t find anyone.

9/27 - A man reported that a wild turkey in his yard at Boulder Avenue NE had a dart or arrow stuck into it.

- Five vehicles were tagged by police for removal after being parked without being moved for 45 days.

9/28 - A Spokane Way man was arrested and taken to Grant County jail and is being charged with fourth-degree assault domestic violence and unlawful imprisonment after a drinking episode and argument. The woman said that while lying in bed, the man urinated on her.

- A woman on East Grand Coulee Avenue, when informed that her dog was barking, told the officer she would return home and put the dog inside. The report stated that this has been an ongoing problem.

9/29 - A woman complained to police that another woman followed her in Safeway and threatened her. She was advised to get a protection order from the courts.

- A woman at Prims Place said she had found several new light bulbs next to her garbage can and thought they might have been stolen.

9/30 - A man who was pulled over on a reckless driving complaint faces a number of charges, when police finally find him. When pulled over, police said, the driver ran and so faces additional charges, such as second-degree criminal trespass, obstructing a law enforcement officer, third-degree escape, and driving with a suspended license.

- A driver was issued a citation for driving while his license was suspended. Police caught up to him at the taco truck and told him to park his vehicle and not to drive.

- Police ordered a tow to take a vehicle off the streets. The registration had expired on the vehicle in 2016.

- Police are seeking a Cardinal Road man who allegedly was caught in an attempted burglary at an apartment on Federal Avenue, where he had pried open a sliding door and was trying to get inside when he was confronted. The issue was called in to police and is known to law enforcement.

10/1 - Police had to put a deer down after finding it near Pole Park after it had been hit by a vehicle.

- An Electric City man was reported for urinating on an East Grand Coulee Avenue house. The person was known to the homeowner and also police. An officer looked for the man but couldn’t find him.

- A woman on Prims Place told officers that she saw someone shining a flashlight nearby. Two officers looked but couldn’t find anyone.

9/24 - Dispatch advised that there was a domestic issue on Central Drive where a man and woman were heard arguing. Police went to the area but the parties had departed.

9/25 - Police learned that a party on Camas Street might be being taken advantage of by people staying with him. The man said that he planned to go to Okanogan court authorities and get a restraining order against the person.

- When a man was stopped on Fir Street because of a headlamp out on his vehicle, he got out of his SUV and fled on foot. The officer pursued and, when the man tripped and fell, the officer put cuffs on him. Police learned of a felony warrant for his arrest and found drugs on him. While the officer was cuffing the man, someone who was in the vehicle drove off. The man in cuffs was taken to Okanogan County jail. It wasn’t known who the mysterious driver was.

9/26 - A 15-year-old female student was caught at Lake Roosevelt High School with marijuana and a smoking pipe. The report is being sent to Okanogan County juvenile authorities for charging, and the student was expelled from school, according to the report.

9/27 - An intoxicated man who had been denied alcohol at Harvest Foods told police that he needed a ride to Omak. Later he told the officer he would go to a local residence to sleep it off. Still later he was seen at the Mason City Park and again requested a ride to Omak. Police got a complaint about the man from a daycare worker, who stated the man was waving his arms and talking to himself. Another party said the man had stopped him, jumped into his vehicle and requested a ride to Omak, which was refused. This time, police accommodated the man, giving him a ride to the Omak area to the Okanogan County jail.

9/28 - Police ordered a junk vehicle towed from a location on Civic Way.

- An officer was called to the high school after two male students got into a fight. One student stated that the other had been texting his girlfriend, and he didn’t like it. A copy of the video showing the fight is being sent to the prosecutor’s office.

9/30 - While ordering a driver to move a vehicle from a loading zone at the Coulee Dam Casino, the officer learned of two warrants for his arrest. The man had re-entered the casino and was eventually found hiding in the restroom on the ground floor. Police also learned that the man’s license had been suspended and that he was required to have an ignition interlock, which he did not have. He was arrested and taken to Okanogan County jail on the warrants.
