Grand Coulee

9/15 An officer found the door to a vacant business in Electric City open. The report stated that the owner of the building is deceased and it will likely be auctioned off soon.

- A person from Continental Heights informed police that someone was trying to gain entry into the building. Police checked and found that it was a U.S. Census person seeking information from a tenant.

- A domestic issue was handled by police on Federal Avenue where a couple was living in their car. The report stated that the two had been arguing about “stress” and there weren’t any physical issues.

9/16 - A driver who had been stopped before for not having a current driver’s license was stopped again, this time near Federal Avenue. She was cited and told not to move the car unless she had a driver with a valid license at the wheel.

- A woman on East Grand Coulee Avenue reported to police that a man had been staring at her house for about 20 minutes from across the street. Police checked and couldn’t find the man.

- Police removed a dead deer from the roadway on SR-155 near the dam.

- Loud music being played outside at Electric City Bar & Grill brought a complaint from a resident. Police asked that the band turn the volume down, and the band made a joke of it and continued to play loud. After one more song the band quit playing.

9/17 - A man reported to police that he had seen tinfoil with a burnt substance in it at a Silver Drive house on Electric City where his daughter lives with her mother. He was concerned about his daughter’s safety. The officer told him that any change in the arrangement of where his daughter resides would need to be handled through the courts.

- A person at Electric City hall called to complain that a dog called “Rex” was running loose. A third party caught the dog and reattached it to its leash.

- A party on Dill Avenue received a warning on music being too loud.

- Police were informed of a barking dog on Roosevelt Drive. The dog wasn’t barking when the officer came by.

9/18 - A person reported to police that a man was yelling at traffic near the overlook area just above Grand Coulee Dam. An officer checked on the man, who didn’t have any warrants out for him.

9/19 - A woman on Burdin Boulevard told police dogs were running loose near her house and she didn’t want to go outside. An officer drove the area and couldn’t find any dogs running loose.

- A caller reported a suspicious person on Spokane Way. Police later found a man who was carrying a heavy object and sweating profusely. He told police that a bunch of people had “jumped” him and the object he was carrying was to defend himself. Police checked his bulging pockets and located a knife.

- Police assisted with loading a patient into an ambulance on D Street. A report that a man was breathing but unconscious brought the officer to the area.

- A patrol car gave a vehicle a push up the hill. The car was stalled at Riley Point.

9/20 - Police responded to a Wetzel Street address where a woman reported a domestic issue. No one was home at the address, so police contacted the caller, who stated that she wanted her sister to go to jail. Police arranged for the caller to come to the address but she didn’t show up.

9/22 - Police checked on a barking dog complaint on Butler Square and found that there had been an earlier complaint on the same dog. Police are sending the dog’s owner a citation through the mail.

- Checking on a call that there might be a suicidal person at an Electric Boulevard residence in Electric City, police found that the person was OK and that he said he had no intention of harming himself.

9/23 - An officer checked on a dispute between a man and woman in the Safeway parking lot. The dispute was settled.

- A man known to be wanted on a felony warrant was seen in an alley between A and B Streets. An officer arrested him and took him to Grant County jail.

- A Burdin Boulevard man was seen around vehicles at Electric City Bar & Grill and was told by police to go home.

9/24 - Two men were seen near the waterfall at the Bureau of Reclamation administration building. One was wanted on an arrest warrant. He was taken to Grant County jail.

- A Coulee Dam driver was stopped on Federal Avenue for expired tabs. The officer reported that it was the second time that he had been stopped on the tabs issue. He was cited.

- A man living in a trailer on Jackson Avenue in Electric City was arrested and taken to Grant County jail on a warrant.

9/10 - Police went to the school bus garage, where someone had been seen trying to climb over the fence. Two Grand Coulee officers provided backup on the complaint. The area was searched but no one found.

9/11 - Police checked on a suspicious person report on Columbia Avenue, but found no one.

- Police arrested a Nespelem woman for driving under the influence after a person called to report that a vehicle was swerving from side to side on Fir Street. The woman had previous DUI convictions and wound up at Okanogan County jail.

9/13 - A Nespelem woman reported that her cell phone was taken from her desk while she was away from it.

9/14 - Police were checking on a report of a hit-and-run incident on Roosevelt Way.

9/15 - An officer stopped a vehicle near Elmer City Access Road after observing the driver cross into an oncoming lane. The officer found that he was driving with a suspended license. He parked the car and walked to his house and said he would return with a licensed driver.

- A driver was stopped at River Drive and Roosevelt Way and cited for speeding.

9/16 - An officer aided by a tribal officer helped search the wastewater treatment plant area for a possible trespasser. No one was found.

9/19 - A police report stated that a 6-year-old student at Lake Roosevelt Elementary School had pulled a girl’s hair, disrupted the class, and ended up striking a teacher in the mouth, causing bleeding. The teacher called police so that there would be a record of the event, and the student was suspended in accordance with the rules in the student handbook.

9/21 - An officer saw a dog he recognized running loose near Greene Field and returned it to the owner, along with a citation. Police have had an issue with the dog on several occasions.

- Police arrested a man wanted on both a felony warrant and a Department of Corrections warrant at the Coulee Dam Casino and took him to Okanogan County jail.

9/22 - A woman who sought help in getting a pool table she said belonged to her was found to be wanted on a warrant out of Douglas County. She was arrested and taken to jail.
