The Lady Raiders volleyball team remains undefeated by beating both Waterville and Oroville in only three sets this past week to make their win-loss record 4-0.

In Waterville on Sept. 12, the Lady Raiders gained a decisive win, defeating the Lady Shockers in three quick sets 25-17, 25-22, and 25-12.

"We played around with a couple of rotations again," said Head Coach Kasey Garvin. "It proved to be a great night to work on different things."

Leaders for the evening were Sean Garvin with eight ace serves, five kills, and nine assists; Addison Hansen with eight kills and two blocks for the evening; and Chasity Williams and Emily Abel who each served 100 percent for the evening.

On Sept. 14, the Lady Raiders hosted the Oroville Lady Hornets, again winning in three sets, 25-17, 26-24, and 25-14.

"I'm very proud of my team," Garvin said. "The second set was a bit of a challenge for us. ... We trailed until the end when senior Emily Abel rattled off a run of serves that narrowed the gap in the score late in the set."

With LR trailing 24-20, and Oroville only needing one point to win the set, a combination of LR's Sean Garvin's serving and Olivia Ludwig's hitting performance was enough to come back to win the set 26-24.

Sean Garvin finished the night with five aces, seven kills, nine assists, two blocks, and 94 percent serving; Addison Hansen added six kills, three digs and 100-percent serving to the mix; Olivia Ludwig had three aces, six kills, two digs, and 83-percent serving; Chasity Williams served 100 percent with two aces and six digs for the evening; and Emily Abel had three aces and 100 percent serving, 17 of 17 for the evening.

"The team works very hard on serving every day, and it is paying off," Garvin said. "The team has a four-game average of 28 percent aced serves and a team average of 88 percent."

The Lady Raiders played in Okanogan last night, results of which will be printed in next week's Star.

The Lady Raiders will host the Tonasket Lady Tigers on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m.
