Margery E Hullett Yowell went home to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, August 12, 2017. She was 17 days short of her 99th birthday. Marge was born August 29, 1918, in Noonan, North Dakota. The "Noonan" name is significant, as she was the last of four children born to James E Noonan and Bessie Noonan. Her grandfather was the first mayor and the town was named after him!

Marge finished high school and went on to Teachers College in Minot, North Dakota, in 1936. After a brief teaching career, the one-room schoolhouse burned down and she then went to Business School. With her education she managed several types of stores from grocery to fine clothing.

William R Hullett of Lakota, North Dakota, was smitten with her while he served two terms in the U.S. Navy. They married in Bremerton, Washington, on March 6, 1947. After spending several years in Kalispell, Montana, they moved to Coulee Dam, Washington, where they raised their five children. First born, William (Bill) V married Cindi, Robert (Bob) J married Dorothy (Dot), Ellen Marie (deceased), Ann E Poppe (deceased), and Daniel E. First husband William R, passed away October 16, 1974. She had eight grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She adored them all and never forgot to send birthday cards and holiday gifts.

In 1977, Marge retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier. She continued living in Coulee Dam until 1986 when she moved to Chico, California, and married Carl Stanley Yowell. Carl, by the way, was the grandfather to Bill's wife, Cindi. Together, Carl and Marge had a very fun life with travel and adventure. Carl took her to Ireland where she kissed the Blarney Stone. This was her biggest bucket list accomplishment as she was 100 percent Irish and very proud of it! They shared their time between Chico and Yuma, Arizona, eventually moving to Yuma permanently. On April 1, 1995, Carl passed away and Marge continued to live in Yuma until October 2007. At this time Bill and Cindi moved her back to Chico, for the rest of her life.

Marge was an amazing lady who worked tirelessly as a volunteer at the hospital in Yuma. She was full of love, life and spunk. She loved to dance and did so into her 90s. She cherished family and loved researching the family tree. She had many, many friends and was a loving person to all that knew her. She will be greatly missed as she was a pillar to the family and her friends. Her last wishes of comment were: "Thank you God for my family and for my friends."

Memorial services will be held at a later date at Spring Canyon Cemetery, Grand Coulee, Washington.
