A lightning-caused, 1,150-acre fire that started at 3 a.m. Aug. 9, is burning a mile off of Bridge Creek Road, about 12 miles northeast of Keller, and is 18 percent contained, according to an Aug. 15 press release from the Colville Confederated Tribes.

The crew of 313 personnel has been facing steep slopes and rattlesnakes to fight the fire burning in grasses and timber.
