7/24 - Police were asked to assist tribal police who were in pursuit of a vehicle on SR-155. They had asked Grand Coulee police to place a spike strip across the highway near the Colville Tribe’s headquarters and later learned that the suspect had been apprehended near Jackson’s Service Station in Nespelem.

7/25 - Police responded to a domestic violence call at Butler Square and found that a man and woman had been arguing. The woman complained that the man wouldn’t return her cell phone. When police got the cell phone complaint settled, the woman packed some clothes and left.

- A Nespelem man was arrested and taken to Grant County jail after he allegedly threw a propane bottle through his girlfriend’s windshield outside a house on Partello Parkway. Police are asking that the man be charged with malicious mischief and domestic violence in the third degree.

- A woman on Lakeview Avenue in Electric City reported that sometime during the night someone had entered her house, taken her purse with the car keys in it and stolen her vehicle. The purse also had $300 in cash and credit cards inside.

7/27 - Police were called to Third Street in Electric City because of two dogs running loose. The woman calling told police she was afraid they might kill her cat. Police found one of the dogs, tan and black colored, put it in his patrol car and looked for the owner. There were no tags or license on the dog. When the owner couldn’t be found it was taken to the veterinary clinic.

- Officers went to Kelso Avenue in Electric City on a report of two men fighting. One of the two had left the scene, but the other said that the two were friends and had been drinking. He reported that both ended up with bloody noses, and then said he didn’t want to file any charges.

- A 7-year-old girl called 911 to report that she and another girl had gotten in a fight and that she got hit and “it hurt.” The girl calling 911 was told to only use that number in an emergency.

- Police advised a woman not to lock a dog in a car on a hot day. She was confronted by the officer after returning from shopping for items for the dog at Safeway. The officer told the woman that it didn’t take long for a dog to suffer on a hot day.

- Police went to Sunbanks Lake Resort on a report of a drunken man causing a disturbance. His wife said he had been drinking while on a boat and got loud when drinking. He was told to go to bed and sleep it off, but if police were called again he would be arrested.

- A bicyclist was slightly injured after going through a stop sign and being hit by a car near East Grand Coulee Avenue. A witness stated that the bicycle came through the stop sign at a high rate of speed.

7/28 - Police were trying to locate a Chevy truck that reportedly threw gravel while spinning tires at Jones Street and Dill Avenue. Later it was reported that a stop sign had been knocked down on Alcan Road, towards where the truck reportedly had been headed.

7/29 - An officer observed someone spilling gas on the ground on Midway Avenue, and on closer look recognized a woman wanted on a Department of Corrections warrant for her arrest. The officer found that she was also wanted on a second warrant. She was arrested and taken to Grant County jail.

7/23 - A Columbia Avenue man complained to police that someone had been using his debit card without his permission, and had taken about $7,500 out of his retirement account. Police are asking bank officials to go through their security tapes to see if the person using the card could be identified.

7/27 - A woman was stopped by police for driving carelessly. She said she had never had a driver’s license, and police found that there was a warrant for her arrest. She was taken to Okanogan County jail on the warrant.

7/28 - It was reported that two men were seen near a house and the person thought a burglary was in progress. Police responded and found one of the men sitting in the back of a pickup. When officers approached, he ran, and the chase was on. Finally, officers had to assist the man out of the river because he started to cramp. The man told the officers that he was near the house because he was stashing a bag of clothes in the bushes so no one would steal them. Police found the bag full of clothes. The man was told not to run when an officer asks to talk with him. The second man was found and his feet were badly swollen. Although he was wanted on a warrant, he was advised to get his medication and treat his feet.

- An officer checked on an alarm at a River Drive residence and found both the front and back doors unlocked. While police were there, the owner of the house returned and said she forgot to reset the alarm.

7/29 - A woman was cited on a suspended license issue after being pulled over for not stopping at the intersection of Birch and Sixth Street.

7/30 - A man on Holly Street who had been camping returned and found that someone had taken a safe from his office area. He told police that the safe hadn’t been opened for 20 years because he had forgotten the combination. He said as he recalled there was nothing of value in it.

- A woman on Central Drive told police that someone had slashed two of the tires on her vehicle during the night.

- A Central Drive resident told police that a man had entered the house to report that someone was after him and was going to beat him up.
