Robert Lee Boucher, a resident of Grand Coulee, Washington, died on June 25, 2017. He was born April 13,1924, to Horace Leroy Boucher and Esther Leona Bish Boucher. He grew up on a ranch east of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He served 40 days in combat during World War II and earned a Purple Heart. He graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1949, he moved to Ephrata, Washington, where he worked for the Bureau of Reclamation. In 1971, he transferred to Grand Coulee, where he saw the Columbia Basin Project almost to completion before his retirement in 1986. He married Charlotte Ruth Berlin on July 1, 1950, and began a 59-year journey that resulted in four daughters. He was a member of the Grand Coulee Nazarene Church. In 1954, he began a satisfying, lifelong service to the Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed working with young people and developed the search and rescue camp in Ephrata now named Camp Robert L Boucher. The building was a work in progress for over 30 years.

Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Lois Boucher; his wife, Charlotte Ruth Berlin Boucher; his brother, John Orin Boucher; and his parents. Grandpa Bob, as he was so affectionately called, is survived by his siblings: Frances Richardson, Phillip Boucher, and Edward Boucher. He is also survived by his daughters and their spouses: Evelyn Lee Stanley (Mike), Janice Kathleen Masten (Martin), and Charleen Francis Herrick (Kevin); his 11 grandchildren, listed in order by age: Jim Stanley, Rachael Stanley, Daniel Masten, Cat Stanley, Robert Masten, Jonathan Stanley, Jesse Masten, Joe Stanley, Shae Herrick, Logan Herrick, and Savannah Herrick; and his seven great-grandchildren.

We, his descendants, are confident we will see our father again, as his faith in God was the guiding force in his life.
