Plenty of winners listed for the rodeo

Those rodeo cowboys didn't waver, even with threatening skies both Friday and Saturday, as they competed for a lot of money in the 61st Colorama Pro-West Rodeo at the Ridge Rider grounds in Delano.

One Ridge Rider spokesperson said that the club was pleased with the turnout and enthusiasm despite the inclement weather pattern.

First-place winner for each event are listed here. For the complete listings, see page 8.

Participant in the Color Run

One of the big winners was bull rider Wyatt Wilks, the lone bull rider to make the eight-second horn. He walked away with $1,842.75 after scoring a 70 from the judges.

In the Bareback competition, Seth Shelton placed first with a 79 score and won $619.40.

In the Tie Down competition, Jason Minor placed first with 8.820 points, winning $1,246.40.

In Saddle Bronc riding, Jacob Stacy won $513 with a score of 71.

In Breakaway roping, Josey Shannon took first for $1,282.50 in prize money with a score of 3.020.


In the Barrel Racing event, Kym LaRoche took first with a score of 17.227 for top money of $1,202.07.

In Team Roping, Calgary Smith and Brent Falon took first place, with a score of 6.190, and pocketed $1,426.90.
