The Lake Roosevelt Raiders won three baseball games and lost two this past week, bringing their league win-loss record to 10-6 and their overall record to 13-7. The Raiders will compete in a three-way tiebreaker Thursday in Brewster to determine which two teams will go onto the postseason.

"We are still fighting for a playoff spot," Head Coach Billy Nicholson said. "We need to beat Waterville on Tuesday (May 2) and see what happens with the rest of the league."

Against the Waterville Shockers April 25, the Raiders won 6-2, thanks to five runs scored in the sixth inning.

"Kolby Picard hit a big home run to give us the lead in the bottom of the sixth," Nicholson said. "I was happy to see our bats come alive in the sixth inning. Tony pitched a great game and our defense played well."

Tony Nichols pitched eight strikeouts in the game.

The Raiders lost 13-3 against the Okanogan Bulldogs on April 26. Despite the loss, Raider Tyrell Kiser had a good game, going three for three at the plate and hitting a home run.

In a doubleheader against the Soap Lake Eagles Saturday, the Raiders lost the first game 4-3.

"We let one get away as Soap Lake scored four runs in the top of the seventh with two outs," Nicholson said. "Our offense did a good job getting on base every inning, but we couldn't get the timely hit to break it open."

Kolby Picard pitched eight strikeouts in the game.

The Raiders won the second game 5-4, in which senior Tyrell Kiser pitched the last home game of his high school career, pitching 11 strikeouts.

"It will be hard not having Tyrell lead us on the field," said Nicholson of the next season.

Soap Lake took the lead in the top of the seventh inning, but LR came back and won. Said Nicholson, "I was proud of our team for coming back in the bottom of the seventh to get a big win as Trevon Johnson knocked in Hunter Whitelaw for the walk-off victory."

The Raiders defeated the Waterville Shockers May 2 with a final score of 17-6.

A three-way tiebreaker will be hosted on neutral ground in Brewster on Thursday, May 4, with two or more four-inning mini games being played to determine which two teams will move onto the postseason. The first game held will be Lake Roosevelt against Soap Lake at 3:30 p.m., the winner of which will play Tonasket at 4:45 p.m. Lake Roosevelt defeated Tonasket twice earlier in the season, and won one/lost one to Soap Lake.
