Four of the five school board seats in the Grand Coulee Dam School District will be up for election this year.

Potential candidates must file their intention to run for a seat May 15-19, with a primary election on Aug. 1.

School board Chairman Joette Barry is the only sitting member of the board who will not be up for election. She has two more years on her present term.

One of the four up for re-election, Ken “Butch” Stanger, from District 2, has already indicated that he won’t seek another term.

The other three — Carla Marconi (District 1); George LaPlace (District 3 at large); and Richard Black (District 5) — all will have to file and face voters if they wish to continue on the board.

LaPlace and Black are filling out vacated seats on the board.
