Phyllis "Marlene" Grant, 61, went to be with her Lord Jesus one day following her 61st birthday on Monday, January 2, 2017, at Coulee Medical Center in Grand Coulee, Washington. Born Sunday, January 1, 1956, in Spokane, Washington, to Robert W. and Phyllis Grant Sr., Marlene graduated from Coulee/Hartline High School in 1974. A member of Hartline Assembly of God, Marlene loved Jesus with all of her heart. Marlene surrounded herself with animals of all breeds and so chose work which allowed her to be around them, such as leading vacationers on trail rides on horseback at Sun Lakes State Park; rescuing errant dogs, cats and many other animals as a volunteer Animal Control Officer for the Grant County Humane Society; and as an employee at Pitt's Game Farm in Coulee City, Washington. Aside from animals, Marlene enjoyed exploring You Tube and playing X-Box, but the closest to her heart was always spending time with her grandchildren.

Predeceased by her father, Robert W. Grant Sr., as well as both her paternal and maternal grandparents; Marlene will be greatly missed by her mother, Phyllis Rice; brothers: Robert Jr., J Ed and Jeff; daughter, Amber Olson; son, Robert Olson; grandchildren: Adrian Grant, Ashley Garza (Ben) and Andrea Olson; great-grandchildren: Kaiden Garza, Kyanna Graza, Kalaya Garza and Isabella Graza; and her faithful four-footed companions – two dogs: Maddy and Riley and two cats: Mister and Mumbles.

A celebration of Marlene's life will take place at 10 a.m., on Friday, January 13, 2017, in Hartline Assembly of God Church, 989 Willard St, Hartline, WA 99135. A private inurnment will take place at Valley View Cemetery in Soap Lake, Washington, at a later date.

In her passing, Marlene gave the gift of sight to two people, through the donation of her corneas.

Contributions can be made in Marlene's memory to the Humane Society or the Hartline Assembly of God Church.
