Preparing for the worst

Savannah Hobrecht, right, wasn't too traumatized playing a shooting victim during an exercise Saturday at Coulee Medical Center designed to get multiple agencies prepared for an "active shooter" in case one ever strikes the hospital. The drill attracted some 14 agencies from the region, including fire, law enforcement and emergency medical services, plus participants from Quincy and Tonasket. Treating Hobrecht at one of four triage stations outside the hospital, this one in the parking lot of Grant County Mental Health, are EMT Deborah Jimenez and firefighter Jerry Sands. - Scott Hunter photo
