We wanted to thank everyone who helped with the cleaning &andrepairs weekend in early March. Several people showed up to volunteer their services and they did a fantastic job in the kitchen and around the center. Offsite, the bus garage upgrades are coming along, thanks in part to a break in the cost of lights and materials from Coulee Hardware ,,so we also want to thank them for helping support our efforts.

Our meals program had a fabulous St. Patrick’s Dinner celebration with a great crowd. The next special dinner event is April 28, when we celebrate Louisiana’s statehood by having some New Orleans-style barbecue shrimp, Dirty Rice and Beans and some other specialties from the region. Of course, we won’t make anything too spicy, but Louisiana Hot Sauce will be available on the tables so you can add whatever level of heat you prefer! Mark it on your calendars and join us if you can. Just remember to call by at least noon so we know how many people will be attending.

We also want to remind everyone to pay attention to the needs of your neighbors and loved ones. If you have a neighbor or relative who you think could benefit by having meals delivered to their home on a regular basis, please give us a call at 509-633-3214 or leave a message at 509-633-2321. There is also a bus that will pick riders up to bring them to the center for dinners Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday through the People for People program. So be sure to call us for more information.
