Les Schwab Tires in Grand Coulee has a new manager.

Bryan Hansen, a 20-year veteran with the company, arrived last Saturday to take over his new duties.

Hansen comes from Manteca, California, where he was assistant manager.

The snowy winter here is quite a change from Manteca, which is in the middle of the inner California valley, where temperatures get hot in the summer, and the weather is mild in the winter.

Not here, as far as the winter goes, particularly this year.

"Working for Les Schwab was my first job, and I've never had another one," Hansen stated.

He started working when 16 at the Tigard, Oregon store, where he met his wife, Jessica. She was a bookkeeper there.

The past 11 years, Hansen has been at the Manteca tire store, most recently as assistant manager.

The couple has three children, Ava, 8; Eden, 6; and Trevor, 2.

Hansen went to school at Westview High, on Beaverton's west side.

The new Les Schwab manager hopes to get a little camping in while here, something he didn't have time for in California.

He replaces Corey Willis, who has accepted the manager position in the Winnemucca, Nevada, Les Schwab Tire store. Willis had been manager in Grand Coulee since August 2012.
