Adults 21 years old and older who need to earn a high school diploma have that opportunity in the Grand Coulee Dam area this fall. The emphasis for the course offering through Big Bend Community College is preparation of a portfolio of evidence to support current high school graduation requirements. Transcripts, knowledge gained from life experiences, previous and current employment, specialized certifications, volunteer history, and any combination thereof, may be incorporated into a plan to fulfill the requirements. Big Bend Community College issues the high school diploma upon successful completion and review of the requirements.

Students who need to study prior to taking the 2014 Series GED exams or enrolling in college may also participate in the class. The GED class is available to students 16 years old and older. Students between 16 and 19 years old must be officially released by the school district.

For information on how to participate, please contact Linda Black at 633-3611 or lblack_ged@yahoo.com by September 18. Sessions for HS21+ and GED preparation begin Tuesday, September 22. A minimum number of students is required for this course offering.
