Big Bend Community College is offering classes to meet three education goals during winter quarter.

Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes are for students desiring to brush up on basic skills prior to enrolling in college or for personal enrichment.

GED prep classes are for students wanting to prepare for the 2014 Series GED exams. Traditional and online instruction is available for students who are at least 16 years old and have permission from the local school district to participate.

HS21+ competency-based high school diploma classes are for adults 21 and older who are lacking a high school diploma. By demonstrating competency in required subject areas based on previous transcripts and current coursework, life experiences, and production of a portfolio of evidence that meets high school graduation requirements for Washington State, students may be issued a high school diploma by Big Bend Community College.

For information on how to participate in these programs locally, please contact Linda Black at lblack_ged@yahoo.com or 633-3611. Class sessions begin Tuesday, January 6 at 3:30 p.m. in the old Grand Coulee Dam Middle School Annex. A minimum number of students is required for these course offerings.
