9/7 - Officers checked on a report from Tribal Police that a stolen vehicle was at a location on Sunny Drive in Electric City. The man who had the vehicle was arrested on a Department of Corrections detainer. He told police that he had made a down payment on the vehicle and still owed $2,800. The woman who owned the car stated that the man didn’t have permission to take the vehicle. The man was taken to Grant County Jail on the DOC detainer. Charges on taking the vehicle are pending.

- An Electric City man was stopped for not having a front license plate and because the vehicle tires were in poor condition. The man driving had a suspended license and had been stopped on several occasions for the same offense. He was cited again.

9/8 - Police checked on a report of a disturbance at The Variety Store. A couple who had purchased an item that day tried to return it for a refund but didn’t have the receipt. An argument occurred, and the man threw the item to the floor.

9/9 - Plant Protection asked that an officer search through the trash at the Bureau of Reclamation office to see if he could find a hypodermic needle. The officer searched through the trash but couldn’t find a needle. Several Bureau officials stood by to observe the search.

- Police had a report that a suspicious person was walking around a residence on Sunny Drive with a flashlight. The caller thought they might be casing the place. Police found several people siphoning gas from a vehicle. The people siphoning laughed when the officer came up because one of them lived at the residence. The officer was told that they were siphoning gas from a vehicle that wasn’t used. The officer recognized one of the persons and knew he lived there.

- An officer heard and saw the flash from a transformer explosion in the alley off Van Tyne Avenue. Grant County PUD was advised of the mishap.

9/10 - Coulee Medical Center personnel advised police that two dogs were chasing kids who were on skateboards. The two dogs ended up at the vet clinic.

- An officer had to shoot a deer that had been hit by a vehicle near the Visitor Center.

- An Electric City man was arrested after a domestic violence incident on Stevens Avenue in Electric City and taken to Grant County Jail. The man and a woman who rented a room from him were in a dispute over rent.

9/11 - Police assisted with traffic after an Electric City man ran out of gas near Pole Park.

- A man who walked by hospital windows “flipping” people off, came into the building wanting vaseline for his lips. He was given an ointment for his lips and then for a time refused to leave. Police found the man outside and told him he was banned from the property. He left.

9/12 - An Electric City woman asked for an officer’s help in getting her aging father back in bed. He had fallen and she was unable to lift him. The officer assisted.

- A woman who found a bag of bones called police. The officer was able to determine that the bones were from a deer and called a city crew member to come and dispose of the bones.

- A woman on Ronald Drive was told that the next time police receive a complaint of her barking dog she would be cited. The police have received four complaints on the dog barking in the past.

- Police covered a one-vehicle accident at mile post 20 on SR-155 until Washington State Patrol could arrive. Car parts from the accident covered the highway and the officer directed traffic. The occupant of the car was taken by ambulance to Coulee Medical Center.

- Police were asked to get medications for a mental health patient. After receiving directions where they could be found and with another person, the medications were provided for the patient.

9/14 - Police were called to a house on Partello Street where it was reported that vacuum cleaner sales people were annoying the resident. Police found two females who explained that they were “door knockers” preceding a vacuum cleaner sales person. The two along with the sales person were advised that they needed a city permit and told to cease their work until a permit was granted.

9/8 - A homeowner on Lincoln Avenue was advised by police and the Colville Confederated Tribes that his dog had been barking for some time and that this was in violation of the town’s nuisance ordinance and that he would be cited if it continues.

- Two women got into a fight near the Galaxy Native Smoke business in Coulee Dam after one posted comments the other didn’t like on FaceBook. Neither wanted to press charges. One of the women had blood on her tank top and the other had a small laceration on her lip.

- Police were asked to check on the welfare of a woman who stated she was homeless and temporarily staying at a residence on Columbia Avenue. The woman told police that she was under mental health care but hadn’t taken her medicine because someone took it.

9/9 - An officer saw a woman roll through a stop sign at Central Drive and Crest and stopped her to issue a warning.

9/11 - A driver was observed going 50 mph in a 35 mph zone on River Drive and was advised if he was caught speeding again he would receive a ticket.

- A woman on Spruce Street told police that a dog was chasing children and that she had seen it loose several times in the past week. A tribal animal control officer was advised of the complaint.

- A resident on Civic Way was advised by Coulee Dam Police and the Colville Confederated Tribes that his dog was running loose in violation of a town ordinance and if it continued he would be cited.

9/12 - A woman on Spruce Street told police that she found a dead cat on her doorstep and she couldn’t believe that someone would place it there. The officer suggested to the woman that perhaps the cat had been hit by a car and made it to her porch.
