Clark Slattery, Coulee Dam, has been over charged for electricity for 29 years. Coulee Dam issued him a check this week for $3,800.00. Slattery says they still owe him about $15,000.00 but the city says the statue of limitations can only go back six years.

The local Rotary Club and Lions Club will join forces to serve about 500-700 meals in conjunction with the Grand Columbian Triathlon, Sept. 18th.

Local firemen once again are battling fire in Washington State. This time, Jack Oldroyd, Jesse Utz, Buzz Miley, Myron Malone, Ben Alling and Walt Hegwer, went to the Rail Canyon Fire near Ford, WA. This is the local department's third tour this season with Goldendale and Eniat being the first two fires.

Justin and Brianna Knighten are pleased to announce the birth of their sister, Shyanne. She weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and her parents are Steve and Valinda.

The north end of Banks Lake will be the site of the Steamboat Stroker Canoe Race this week. There will five legs of the race and many different categories. Jean Comstock is one of the sponsors and organizers of the race and hopes this to become an annual event.

A military 30-inch Aerial-type bomb was found late Friday afternoon near the Delano Garbage Dump. Jack Pachosa, Grand Coulee Maintenance Worker, immediately called authorities, Grand Coulee Police Chief Frank Parker responded and roped off the vicinity and called the U.S. Army Ordinance Disposal Unit at Fort Lewis. It is still unknown how it came to be thirty feet from the road, near the dump.

Matthew Pachosa received his Captain's pins from his Colonel; at a ceremony this week. Pachosa leaves in September for a thirty month deployment in Izmir, Turkey.

Five hundred ten-week-old Chinese Pheasants roosters were released in the area Saturday. Dick Thompson, State Game Protector, announced they were released in Douglas, Okanogan and Grant Counties by local sportsmen: Red Wright, Roy Weitzel, Pete Whitelaw, Ray Johnson and Homer Evers.
