Two Electric City women were arrested early Monday morning and are being charged with burglary and making false statements to a law enforcement officer.

Taken to Grant County jail were Jennifer M. Miley, 33, of 340 Electric Boulevard; and Juliana Y. Terry, 30, of 58063 2nd Street NW.

The two were found in a house at 110 E. Grand Avenue, Grand Coulee, at about 2:30 in the morning.

A nearby resident had called police to say that some people were prowling around the house. When police arrived, the report stated, a back window was broken and when an officer looked into the house he could see one person.

That person, Miley, was ordered out of the house and when asked if anyone else was inside, said no, according to the report. Police said they entered the house and found Terry trying to hide in a back bedroom. She said they entered through the front door. However, the front door had a padlock on it, police noted.

Terry had a pill bottle with marijuana in it when arrested. Police said there was a Department of Corrections pickup order on her.

After being questioned, the two were taken to Grant County Jail.
