PUBLIC NOTICE

The Colville Tribes Land Use Review Board will be holding a public hearing to make a ruling on the following land use and development permits:

1. Verizon Wireless has submitted a land use and development application for a conditional use to collocate 9 panel antennas and 1 microwave antenna on an existing water tank located on School Loop Road, Nespelem, WA. In addition, there will be 7 equipment cabinets and a backup emergency generator placed on site. The water tank is located on Tribal Trust property Tribal Tract 101-T4179 within Township 31 N, Range 30 E, Section 35 and is within the boundaries of the Colville Indian Reservation.

2. The US Bureau of Reclamation has submitted a shoreline development application to install two log boom systems with anchors and lighted buoys to eliminate recreational use to protect two culturally significant archeological sites. All work will be done from barges. The two areas of development will be Moon Beam Bay +/- 14 river miles (within Township 28 North, Range 33 East, Section 18) and Redford +/- 24 river miles (Township 28 North, Range 34 East, Section 16) from Grand Coulee Dam and is within the boundaries of the Colville Indian Reservation.


A public hearing for the above mentioned Land Use Development Permit Application will be conducted on Thursday August 21, 2014 at the Colville Tribal Credit conference room on the Colville Indian Agency Campus starting at 9:30 a.m. Written comments will be accepted until August 20, 2014 at 4 p.m. or comments can be made verbally at the public hearing. All comments may be sent to Pete Palmer, Land Use/Shoreline Administrator, P.O. Box 150, Nespelem, WA 99155 or they can be faxed to her attention at 509-634-2581. You can also contact the Tribal Planning Department at the afore-mentioned address or phone number to request a copy of the permit documents.

Notice of

Balloon Test

Notice is hereby given of a balloon test to be conducted at Keller Butte on Saturday August 23rd from 10am to 2pm. In case of inclement weather the test will be held on September 6th from 10am to 2pm. The balloon test will be held on behalf of AT&T. Colville Tribal Code Chapter 4-22 requires the test be conducted as part of AT&T’s Special Use Permit to allow a new 120 feet tall telecommunication tower.

In case of inclement weather the test will be held on September 7th from 10am to 2pm. The balloon test will be held on behalf of AT&T. Colville Tribe Code requires the test be conducted as part of AT&T’s Special Use Permit to allow a new 120 feet tall telecommunication tower.
