Grand Coulee

7/7 - A man reported that he found a motorcycle off the roadway on O”Sullivan Road. Police traced the registered owner to a man living on Hill Avenue and the legal owner a man from Moses Lake. The motorcycle was not stolen but belongs to a person who has a felony warrant out for him. The motorcycle was impounded.

- A woman who struck another woman’s vehicle near the post office in Electric City received a citation for failing to yield.

- A businessman in Grand Coulee reported that employees had found a bundle of clothes near the store’s parking lot. The bundle was examined but nothing suspicious was found and the clothes were tossed.

- A man who is handicapped was found near Station 5 in the Grand Coulee Dam project. He told the officer that he was going to Bellingham but couldn’t drive at night. He was assisted in getting a motel room by the officer.

7/8 - Two people were arrested on a stolen vehicle charge and additional charges are pending the result of testing items for illegal drugs. The car was recovered. The woman involved was from Grand Coulee and the man from Mansfield.

- A Grand Coulee man reported that his vehicle had been stolen and he saw it driving down Main Street. The officer could not locate the vehicle and notified both Okanogan and Lincoln Counties of the theft.

- Plant Protection advised police that a man on a bicycle was in North Dam Park after hours. The officer told the man he was trespassing and to get out of the park.

7/9 - A San Diego woman who explained that she was taking photos of the sunset was blocked in by homeowners who thought she was a thief.

- A woman on Burdin Boulevard told police that she thought a neighbor had left feces on her door step. She became irritated because the officer wouldn’t arrest the neighbor. She stated she would call Tribal police and was told she could do what she wanted, but that the neighbor couldn’t be arrested without proof.

- Two hours later police got a second call from the same resident with the same complaint.

- A door that was left open at Center Elementary School was closed after the officer determined that no one was in the building.

- An officer stopped a vehicle after observing it crossing the center line repeatedly and found the driver was suspended and she didn’t have insurance. She failed to find someone to come get the car and parked and locked it while she sought a licensed driver to come to her aid.

7/10 - Police checked on a report that two dogs were left in a vehicle in the Safeway parking lot. The vehicle was in the shade and the windows were rolled down a bit. The dogs didn’t seem in distress and the owner came out and stated he had only been in the store a short time. He was warned about the problem of leaving animals in a vehicle during hot weather.

7/11 - A report from Coulee Medical Center that a dog was left in a vehicle brought police to the location. The officer found a small dog panting heavily. The owner came out wiith water and ice and was warned about leaving an animal in a vehicle when it was so hot.

- A man was criminally trespassed from an apartment at the Senior Manor after a person reporπted that he heard someone yell and then saw the suspect walk away. A woman at the apartment said when she saw who it was she slammed the door shut.

7/12 - A woman reported that someone pointed a gun at her at the boat launch at Spring Canyon. Due to the extended time it took to get a response from a National Park Service officer a search of the area was made without results.

- A small plastic bag with a white powder in it was found at Four Corners and turned into police.

- A woman living on Lincoln Avenue in Electric City reported that someone had slashed two of her tires. The loss was estimated at $600.

- A woman living on Prims Place reported that her little dog had been missing since 7/7.

- A Cheney couple was told to not cause any more trouble at Coulee Medical Center. The man told police that since his girl friend changed her name it became impossible to renew her prescriptiom. He said he was upset and had been yelling.

- A person living on Gold Avenue in Electric City said a neighbor had been doing something to one of his sprinkler heads and he wanted him trespassed from his property. The neighbor told police that the sprinkler head was sending water onto his property. The officer’s suggestion about being neighborly was met with hostility.

7/13 - Police checked on a person walking up the Coulee Dam hill who reportedly was having trouble. The man told police that he had a hernia and was in pain but that someone was coming to get him.
