Christie Ann Arbaugh passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at her home in Grand Coulee, Wash. She was born to Lloyd and Angeline Nicholson on January 5, 1958. She was raised in Arlington and graduated from Marysville-Pilchuck High School.

Christie was a loving wife daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece and a friend to anyone she met. She married her soul mate, James C. (Pete) Arbaugh on February 11, 1983. They built a home in Stanwood on property that had side-by-side ponds that they loved to stock with fish for friends and family to enjoy. They loved camping, hiking and fishing in Eastern Washington so much that they retired, and moved to Soap Lake and later found their dream home in Grand Coulee. Prior to retirement Christie worked for the Housing Authority of Snohomish County.. Pete and Chris enjoyed going to garage sales and especially the Senior Center thrift store.

Christie was preceded in death by her father, Nick; brother, Dave; and most recently, her husband, Pete who suffered a fatal heart attack while fishing off of a dock on Lake Roosevelt on December 15, 2013. She is survived by her mother, Angie of Arlington; sisters, Connie (Paul) White of Marysville, Carole Beecher of Marysville, Carla (Jerry) Kneeland of Arlington; sister-in-law, Marion Shankweiler-Nicholson of Lynnwood; brother-in-law, Bill (Bobby) Arbaugh of Lake Stevens; as well as many more extended family members. She is sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

We take comfort in the fact that she is no longer suffering from the extreme pain that she felt in her heart after Pete's death.
