Lady Raider softball dropped all three of their games last week.

At Oroville May 6, the Lady Raiders lost to the Hornets by a close score.

On the mound, Tristen Adolph continued her streak of solid performances, striking out eight batters and giving up only four walks. Some 68 percent of Adolph’s 124 pitches were strikes.

Adolph along with Savannah Marin had a good day at the plate, going three for four.

But Lake Roosevelt left six runners stranded on the base paths and made too many errors that allowed the Hornets to score.

In a May 9 doubleheader in Grand Coulee against Pateros, the Nannies shut down the Lady Raiders in the first game, which ended after five innings due to the mercy rule.

The Nannies’ pitcher struck out 12 Lady Raiders, and LR batted only .222 in the first game and again left six runners stranded.

In the second game the score was closer but the Lady Raiders left 14 runs on the base paths, the difference between winning and losing. The defense improved, committing only two errors in the second game over nine in the first game.

Adolph pitched the second game, striking out five Nannies. She went four for four at the plate and stole three bases.

“LR just didn’t pull it all together for the win, but it was a better game than the first,” Head Coach Jamie Lezard said of the second game.

This is the last week of the regular season for the Lady Raiders. Last night they travelled to Bridgeport to take on the Central Washington 2B North-leading Fillies. On Saturday the Lady Raiders will host the Liberty Bell Mt. Lions in a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. for the season finale at Grand Coulee.

“We just need to finish strong, stay positive and have fun playing the game,” Lezard said.
