Andrew "Andy" Gua, 81, died the afternoon of Wednesday, Apr. 30, 2014, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Wash. He was born November 28, 1932, into the Nespelem, Wash., home of Antoine and Mary Jo Gua, Andy belonged to the Roman Catholic Church. He had worked as a logger and as an administrator with Tribal Government. He enjoyed all games of chance including stick games and poker, as well as reading westerns, especially Louie L'Amour, but he especially enjoyed just dropping in on family for three to four days at a time and watching TV.

He is predeceased by both of his parents; siblings: Alphonse Gua, Teresa Campbell, Edward Gua, Peter Gua, Rose Somday, Batise "Peaches" Gua, Bill Gua, Antoine Jr. "Tony" Gua, Bob Gua, Mary Louise Flores, Charlie Gua and Paul Gua.

Andy is survived by his daughters: Teresa Bigbull, Katherine Hobbs, Marie Garrison and Jada Gua; nieces and nephews: Mike Somday, Junior Somday, Charlie Gua Jr., Verna Winders, Jim Gua, Sandy Gua, Noel Campbell and Joan Abrahamson and friends too numerous to mention.

Andy's dressing took place at 5 p.m., on Friday, May 2, at Strate Funeral Home of Grand Coulee, Wash. A public Rosary and wake was held at 7 p.m., on Sunday, May 4, at the Catholic Longhouse in Nespelem, with a funeral Mass held there at 10 a.m., on Monday May 5, followed by burial at Nespelem City Cemetery in Nespelem.
