Dr. Nicholas A. Donaghey has joined the Gillespie Eye Care team as the primary optometrist at its Grand Coulee location, 407 Burdin Boulevard.

Donaghey received his bachelor's degree from the University of Arkansas and his doctorate from the Ohio State University.

The eye care practice, which also has offices in Quincy and Brewster, has recently gone through a complete refurbishment, including fixtures and technical equipment. Gillespie Eye Care purchased Family Vision Care in August, 2013.

Gillespie also has offices in Quincy and Brewster.

Dr. Donaghey has located in the Grand Coulee Dam area from Fayetteville, Ark., with his wife and three young children. His practice marks the first time Grand Coulee has had an optometrist practicing full time in the community.

"One of the most exciting aspects of this opportunity is having the chance to work with and become a part of a small, tightly knit community such as the Grand Coulee area," Donaghey said.

The new optometrist has volunteered on medical mission trips to Nicaragua and has assisted in organizing similar mission trips to Bolivia and Guatemala.

The local eye clinic is open Monday through Thursday from 9-5, and more information on the clinic is available at its website, http://www.gillespieeyecare.com.
