Eleven Raider wrestlers will compete at the sub-regional meet on Saturday at Northwest Christian High School in Colbert.

Action starts at 11 a.m. At the sub-regional, the top six wrestlers at each weight class will move on to the regional tournament at Kittitas on the Feb. 15. At Regionals there will be a 16-man bracket with the six from the north sub-regional joined by six from the south sub-regional. LR is looking to defend its sub-regional championship from last year and does have a shot at repeating.

Lake Roosevelt had to finish the regular season first at Oroville in the Eastern Washington North League match. The wrestlers competed to settle seeding arguments and to face off against those whom they never competed against in tournaments or in mixers. Some of the Raiders competed in only one match, while others wrestled up to three matches.

Zack Erickson defeated Merrik Merkley of Selkirk by a third-round pin. The win improved his position going into this weekend's sub-regionals. Erickson and James Monaghan will represent LR in the 120-pound bracket.

Kodie Horn pinned Jacob McMillian of Liberty Bell in his only match of the day. McMillian placed second last year at the state B tourney. Horn will be wrestling at 145 on Saturday, where he will be joined by Jesse Louie.

Teddy Sharr recorded a victory over Carranza of Oroville by pin. As with Erickson, the win improves Sharr's seed on Saturday.

Octavio Alejandre swept the field, pinning both of his opponents to become the North B League 285-pound champion. Alejandre is in good position for this weekend at sub-regionals.

After sub-regionals, the Raiders will travel to Kittitas Friday, Feb. 14, to wrestle the first round of the regional tournament starting at 3 p.m. Saturday the tournament will start at 10 a.m.
