Grand Coulee High School Alumni Association will hold the first of three regularly scheduled meetings for 2014 on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m., at United Methodist Church, 405 Center Street, Grand Coulee. The purpose of the organization is to recognize outstanding graduates of Lake Roosevelt High School by the awarding of two $500 scholarships each year. Money for the scholarships is raised by annual dues of $10 from anyone who at one time attended Grand Coulee schools, as well as graduates of GCHS. Donations in memory of classmates, faculty, and family members also increase the amount available for future scholarships.

The Alumni Association would like to invite alumni from Coulee Dam High School and Nespelem High School to attend this meeting. A major topic of discussion will be the statue of mascots of area high schools prior to consolidation of the schools combined with the mascot of Lake Roosevelt High School that has been proposed for the new school complex in Coulee Dam. This will represent the schools that no longer exist but are not forgotten by the many alumni who still live in this area and those who come back for reunions and other happenings. Please attend and support a project of interest to us all.
