When the

mayor’s away…

Bob Poch was elected mayor pro-tem at Coulee Dam’s council meeting last Wednesday night. Poch will conduct meetings when Mayor Greg Wilder is unable to attend a meeting. Poch will serve for six months, at which time the council will name a council member mayor pro-tem for another six month term.

to serve

Think you would like to serve on the city council? Here’s your chance if you live in Grand Coulee. The city is looking for a registered voter who has been a resident of the city for a year to submit a letter of interest to Grand Coulee City Hall, Box 180, Grand Coulee 99133, by Jan. 31. The person selected will replace Tim Alling in Position 2, who chose not to run again.

Planet Earth Players will hold auditions for both men and women for an upcoming play from 6-7:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights in the room above the Senior Center. It won’t be necessary for those trying out to learn lines because the play hasn’t been selected yet.

Revenues

The Delano Regional Transfer Station showed a revenue of $439,404.64 for 2013, the Regional Board of Mayors learned Monday. That exceeded revenue in 2012 by $28,181.95. Two new mayors joined the monthly meeting for the first time — Gail Morin, of Elmer City, and Greg Wilder from Coulee Dam. Morin ran the meeting since it is Elmer City’s turn to provide chairman duties.

A drive for blood donations will be held Jan. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Coulee Medical Center’s Professional Building A.

Sheriff’s

office

to close

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office in Ephrata will be closed to public access on Wednesday January 22, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for employees to attend a mandatory all-staff meeting and training.
