Brandon Tyler Ricks aka: “B”, “Bran”&”Rock-n-Roll Ricks”(26) began his earthly journey in Burien, Wash., January 9, 1987, and tragically departed us much too soon from Fife, Wash., on Sunday, June 2, 2013.

At three years of age, Brandon moved with his family from Seattle to the Grand Coulee area, attending school there from pre-school through Lake Roosevelt High School. There he played football and basketball and excelled as a wrestler. Brandon’s high school years will be remembered for his athletics and for his music. At 16 years of age he and friends founded their band “Random Heroes” with Brandon as lead singer, drummer and guitarist. “Random Heroes” created quite a stir playing many local venues including the “Grand Gallery of the Arts” and even cutting a CD before they disbanded with the members going their separate ways.

Throughout his life, Brandon loved to experience life, excelling at everything he did - being a “Super Awesome” Boy Scout, as a member of Awana, creating and experiencing music. His occupation as a welder for “HMT Tank Services” allowed Brandon to experience the out-of-doors in many locations such as Alaska, Montana, California, Oregon and Utah. Brandon’s greatest legacy will always be as a faithful and giving friend.

Predeceased by his grandmothers: Helen Wright-Ricks and Dolores Moore, Brandon’s notes will always linger in hearts of his mother and second dad Lisa and Jim Friedrich; father Herb “Sam” Phelan; grandfather Quentin Ricks; brothers: Jeffrey Ricks, Dalton Billups and Samuel Phelan; sisters: Ashley Ricks (Richard Vratil), Angela Phelan and Crystal Phelan-Zellmar; and nephew Johnathan Buchanan, and his many, many friends.

Pastor Steve Archer of Electric City’s Faith Community Church officiated at a memory-filled celebration of Brandon’s Life held Sat., June 8, 2013, at 1 p.m., in Strate Funeral Chapel of Grand Coulee with a special video and photo display compiled by Kim Smith and Kaillyn Reeb. Brandon was attended by pallbearers: Dalton Billups, Jeffrey Ricks, Trevor Siders, Blaine Arnold, John Gall, Ben Heindl, Jonathan Buchanan, Samuel Phelan, Justin Beagle and Michael Gray. Upon leaving Strate Chapel, Brandon’s family and friends continued his celebration throughout his burial in Grand Coulee’s Spring Canyon Cemetery.
