Time for cool cars to cruise in

The Coulee Cruizers will strut their stuff this weekend at North Dam Park.
It will be the 29th annual showing of the Best Rod Run by a Dam Site, always a favorite of local people who enjoy the work individual members of the Cruizers put into their cars.
It all kicks off Friday at 5 p.m., in the parking lot of Hometown Pizza, where the group will have its “cruise in.” The kickoff for the weekend lasts until 7 p.m. during which time there will be the annual “poker run” and a chance to cruise some of the scenic areas around the coulee.
On Saturday, registration begins at 8 a.m. and lasts until 10 a.m. The show and shine time, where “oohs” and “ahs” are the order of the day for visitors, lasts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. That’s when the classics are all lined up at North Dam Park for visitors to enjoy.
The All Class plus the Peoples Choice Awards will be made at 2 p.m.
In conjunction with Koulee Kids Fest, children will have the opportunity to select and vote for their favorite car or truck. The “Kid’s Choice” trophy will be presented to the vehicle receiving the most kids’ ballots.
A no-host barbecue will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., put on by the Lions Club.
