Lake Roosevelt senior Emily Williams along with help from her father Ron, left, and school district Superinendent Dennis Carlson looking on, installs the “Career Technical Education” sign she made for her senior project between the autoshop and the industrial arts building at the school. Williams, who went before the school board on two occasions to get permission for the project, said she wanted to do something that would have a “lasting” value. It took her 60 hours of work to complete the sign, which was set into holes near the side of the building and cemented into place. She cut the letters with a plasma laser cutter. She drew plans for the sign to get school board approval, and built the sign early this month.
