Jesse G. Storey, Grand Coulee, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Valley Care Center in Okanogan. Jesse was the second son of Harold V. and Mary Seresun Storey, born August 9, 1929, in Seattle, Wash. He grew up in Seattle and moved to Grand Coulee to live with his uncle and aunt during his high school years. He graduated from Grand Coulee High School in 1949.

He was a school bus driver and did maintenance for the Grand Coulee Dam School District for much of his career. He was a volunteer fireman until he retired and was also an auxiliary policeman. Jesse was an avid hunter, fishermen and photographer.

He is survived by his son Teven Storey, Thailand; daughters: Sandie Averson and her husband Arch, Spokane and Shawna Shaw and husband Alan, Bellingham; son-in-law Jack Drummond of West Richland; sister Gwendolyn Stanford of Beaverton, Ore., and sister-in-law Mary Storey of Altadena Calif .; grandchildren: Michael, Chris, Tracey, Connie, Justin, Kimberly and Jake. He also leaves four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Harold Storey and his daughter Susan Drummond.


Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Spring Canyon Cemetery at 1 p.m. with a lunch following at Grand Coulee United Methodist Church.
