Hazel Margaret Foster
Hazel Margaret Foster, 77, loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother passed away peacefully from Grand Coulee, Washington’s Coulee Medical Center, with her daughter by her side in the afternoon of Monday, February 4, 2013. Born in Inchelium, Wash ., the daughter of Forest and Agnes (Marchand) Butler; Hazel entered this world November 7, 1935.
A life long member of the Roman Catholic Church, Hazel was always very proud of her Native American heritage. On November 9, 1960, Hazel married her soul-mate Alton Everett Foster and for the last 50 years they made their home in Keller, Washington on Manila Creek Road. Hazel enjoyed crocheting, doing crosswords and word-search, but is probably best remembered for the wonderful smells and food which seemed to magically come from her kitchen. She also enjoyed spending time in the out-of-doors whether huckleberry picking, teaching her children how to fish, hunt or camping. Everyone who knew Hazel also knows she loved to spend time at the casinos gambling, though her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Predeceased by both of her parents; son Robert Alton Foster and daughter Linda Burke; Hazel’s legacy lives on through her beloved husband Alton Foster; son Mike Burke; daughter Vickie Foster; grandchildren: LaZelda Marie Foster and Clarence Alton Robert Foster; niece Linda Novatney; and nephews: Bruce Butler and Billy Butler.
