Daniel Jerome Klug passed away at home in his sleep after a terrific battle with cancer on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013. He was born October 1, 1952, in Clintonville, Wisc. He grew up in the Weyauwega area of Wisconsin where he loved hunting and fishing with his many cousins and friends. This love would continue throughout his life. After graduation from high school, Dan joined the Coast Guard and served six years on the Madrona which was an ice breaker and buoy tender.

From the Coast Guard, Dan made the move to Alaska where his passion for hunting and fishing could be fully enjoyed. Some of the best times of his life were in the woods stalking four-legged game or on the water with a fishing rod in his hand. He spent the last seven years as the manager of the Variety Store in Grand Coulee.

Dan is survived by his companion and wife of 21 years Gale Gunnarson, his father Jerome Klug, his sisters Kathee Hojem and Lynda Quist, and his brother Douglas Klug. He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Klug and his brother David Klug.

To celebrate his life please go out and enjoy the natural wonders of God’s wonderful world.

A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, February 7, at 1 p.m., at the Eagles Lodge in Grand Coulee.
