With a victory over Oroville last Friday, the Lady Raiders moved into first place for the Central Washington North. The victory also extended their win streak to four games.

In a rematch with Liberty Bell on Jan. 15 at home against the winless Mountain Lions, LR put on an early press which quickly led to points, but kept Liberty Bell scoreless until the last three minutes in the first quarter, which ended 25-4 for LR.

The Lady Raiders led at half 42-12 and racked up a 40-plus point lead by the quarter four, when they set the cruise control, subbed in all the non-starters and finished with a convincing win, 68-22.

“The Epperson twins are starting to pick their game level up and (Johnny) McCraigie really stepped up to fill in for Keya Fast Horse,” Head Coach Wallace Pleasants noted. Katelyn Schilling took the game honors with 20 points.

Friday night was tougher. Oroville challenged Lake Roosevelt right away and took the lead in the first quarter, 15-14.

But the Lady Raiders allowed only seven points in the second to take the lead at halftime, 28-22. Oroville outscored LR 12-10 in the third quarter to cut the Lady Raider lead to 38-34.

Lake Roosevelt shut down the Hornets in the fourth, allowing only three points to the Lady Raiders’ 12 and securing the 50-37 win.

The Lady Raiders looked to continue their win streak this week in two home games. They faced Bridgeport last night, and will play Manson Friday at 6 p.m. at Gailord Nelson Gym.

The Lady Raiders have a previous victory against Manson.
